We also support them in their investigations, including forensics, analysis and assistance in locating fugitives worldwide. In addition, training is a cornerstone of our activities in many areas to ensure that officers work effectively with our services.
This expertise supports national crime-fighting initiatives in three global areas that require the quickest response: terrorism, cybercrime and organized crime.
Specialized officers in each crime area work alongside member countries in a variety of ways, such as investigative support, field operations, training and liaison.
Another key part of our mission is to look closely at future developments in international crime and trends through research and development.
We connect our member countries through a secure communication system called I-24/7, which allows them to communicate with each other and with the General Secretariat. Through this system, member countries can also access our databases and services in real time, no matter where they are located.
